How it Started
Nathan’s passion for racing sprung from his time living in Indianapolis and going to the Indy 500 as a fan. He went to his first 500 when he was just 6 years old in 2011, where Dan Wheldon won his last Indy 500 wearing the number 98, which was his racing number in his first three seasons in Ignite. In 2013, he got to see his childhood racing hero Tony Kanaan win his Indy 500, wearing the number 11 and a gray and purple livery that is hinted on Nathan’s race kart for 2025. From that day onward Nathan had a fever for everything IndyCar or Indy 500 related, and his passion for the sport has only grown since. Nathan got his start in karting at K1 Speed Indianapolis when he was 10 years old, winning the Junior League championship in his rookie season. After his move to St. Louis, he found the Gateway Kartplex and began racing in the iDrive Rental Kart series in 2021, with a full-season Ignite scholarship on the line. He quickly found his footing in iDrive, winning 3 races across his first season and scoring many podiums and poles. The 2021 season came down to the wire, with Nathan missing out on the Ignite scholarship by less than a kart length to the champion. But with the skills he had shown and some financial assistance from family and sponsors, he was able to buy a kart and get started racing in the Ignite Series in 2022. So far, he has completed three seasons of Ignite at the club level and one in the Ignite Challenge, as well as an appearance at the Quincy Grand Prix and Dairyland 8hr in 2024.

Behind the Scenes
Nathan graduated from Clayton High School in May of 2023. He went to college for one semester at IUPUI before deciding to move back home. He now lives with his family in St. Charles, IL, and is working full time to help fund his racing efforts. Nathan’s biggest passion outside of racing is content creation. He has his own Youtube channel, IndyNAL, where he films and edits full vlogs of all his races, as well as recording some gaming content from time to time. After a few years of building media-based skills through his own projects, he made the decision to open up Levenhagen Media, his own brand-building business offering graphic design and video production services to people. As Nathan does all of this on his own, most of his spare time is spent working toward his racing goals and his personal projects.
